John Contratti has been an elementary school teacher for over 25 years.  He's the author of two children's books, Cooking with Mr. C and Mr. C Takes Manhattan.  He has appeared on the Hallmark cooking show, Mad Hungry With Lucinda Scala Quinn, which was produced by Martha Stewart, and on the TV dramas Royal Pains and The Americans.  He is a supporter of the organizations Keen Company and Broadway Cares.  John resides in New York and is eager to share his books with Long Islanders.

Elizabeth Correll lives on Long Island, NY with her husband and their two children. Since 1998, she has been a fifth grade teacher at Birchwood Intermediate School (that she considers her second home) in Melville NY.  Elizabeth loves inspiring, motivating and captivating kids, who energize and ignite her creative spirit.  Kids were the main inspiration for her first children's book, The Squiggle Book.  Come meet Mrs. Correll at the LI Book Fair and be inspired too!  

MICHAEL O'keefe

Michael O'Keefe is an author and poet from New York.  A retired 1st grade Detective from the NYPD, he worked in the toughest precincts in NY for twenty-four years, investigating homicides and other violent crimes.  Born and raised on the streets described in his fiction books, his characters and settings are drawn from the people he encountered there--on both sides of the law.  Shot to Pieces was his first novel, published in July 2016.  The book was adopted into the curriculum of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Saint John University's Criminal Justice Department.  Shot to Pieces is now recommended reading for all criminal justice majors at both schools.  He is presently near completion of two follow-up novels.  A collection of short fiction stories, 13 Stories-Fractured, Twisted & Put Away Wet, was published in May of 2019, as was the short novella, Not Buried Deep Enough, all available on Amazon.  Michael lives on Long Island with his family, where he writes and coaches football.  Read Mr. O'Keefe's story and buy his books on his website:  https://www.michaelokeefeauthor.com/

ROLAND ALLNACH

Roland Allnach is the author of seven books: "Remnant" (2010), "Oddities & Entities" (2012), "Prism" (2014), "The Digital Now" (2015), "The Writer's Primer" (2015), "Oddities & Entities 2: Vessels" (2017), and "Angela's Arm" (2018).  Roland's books have been recognized by more than a dozen national book awards and his short stories have received several editorial Best-of nods, as well as a nomination to the prestigious Pushcart Prize.   In addition to his prolific book writing, Roland serves as president of the Long Island Authors Group, representing more than 80 authors across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, NY.  He has also been featured on local and national TV, internet and terrestrial radio, and has appeared at local libraries.

Born, raised and educated in East New York, Brooklyn, Jack Bilello, a former Fulbright Scholar and Chairman of History in the Lindenhurst New York Public School System, lives in Massapequa Park, Long Island.  He has served as an adjunct professor at St. Joseph's College & as a field supervisor at Dowling College in LI.  He is the author of four novels, as well as numerous magazine articles & reviews.  He has appeared on radio and TV programs, and has been a lecturer (about WWII, The Civil War & Laugh, Cry and Think) and guest speaker at various venues, including Malloy College, Farmingdale University & Long Island University. Rev. Luisa Dong

Rev. Luisa Dong lives with her husband, Billy and their dog, Chip, in Levittown, NY. Luisa, or LJ, is an Interfaith Minister and certified Psychic Medium.  She loves yoga, meditating, as well as traveling and meeting new people, both here & in Spirit.  She was a newlywed when her life turned upside down.  Luisa & Billy were young and in love.  They thought that they had it all figured out:  a honeymoon in Europe, a new house, travel, babies and a happily ever after fairytale story.  Instead, LJ's spine injury took their fairytale in a completely different direction.  Neither of them could have prepared for what they were about to face.  After undergoing 6 surgeries & multiple rare health conditions, including the removal of her kidney, they clung to the vows they exchanged at the altar.  LJ's trauma led  to her mediumship. FREDERICK N. LUKASH, M.D.

Frederick N. Lukash, MD, FACS, FAAP, has consistently been voted one of "America's Top Doctors" by the Castle Connolly guide and the Consumers' Research Council of America.  A board- certified plastic surgeon specializing in kids and teens, he is a senior associate at the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group; he has offices in Manhattan and East Hills.  He also serves as an assistant clinical professor of surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  He received his college and medical degrees from Tulane University, and his post graduate training includes Emery University.  His first book, Teenage Plastic Surgery (Ben Bella 2010) has been called "a necessary book" by The New Yorker's website, NewYorker.com.  Come meet Dr. Lukash and hear him discuss his book.

KATHLEEN CAPUTO

Petrina Wallace is a published author, parenting coach, and speaker who is on a mission to inspire single parent families to rise above struggles and achieve success.  She was once a single mom; unable to sustain her family financially, almost committed suicide, and watched her kids on the receiving end of rejection.  Over the years, she has developed proven strategies that improve parenting skills & developing academically successful kids.  Being an educator for 13 years, she has helped parents to build relationships with their children, as well as improve their academic performances, resulting in improved behavior.  Petrina believes we should embrace our struggles, as "Our struggles become our story and our story inspires others!"

G. Katz Chronicle

Author G. Katz  (a.k.a.Gertrude Katz) Chronicle has over three decades of teaching experience in primary, secondary and higher education.  Having taught all major content areas in primary and middle school, as well as education theory and biology  at the secondary and college level, she most enjoys teaching the Life Sciences.  

With a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, G. Katz Chronicle  is also a perpetual student of traditional education and all areas of self-improvement.  To help other educators, students, and parents, she has authored several books including:  Life Science-"Do Nows" and "Exit Tickets, 180 Days  of Warm-Up and Closure Activities, Dirty Monkeys Smell Bad, 40 Biology Lab Activities, and Get Stoked for Science Jokes.   Her latest book, Nathan's Investigation, will be available in late 2019.

Roy Schwartz

Roy Schwartz is the author of The Darkness in Lee's Closet and The Others Waiting There, a dark fantasy for middle grade readers.  

He is also the author of the upcoming Is Superman Circumscribed? How Jewish Culture Shaped the World's Greatest Hero (working title), an adult non-fiction book coming out next fall.

Roy has taught English and writing at CUNY and is a writer-in-residence at the New York Public Library.  When not writing, he is the director of marketing and business development of a regional law firm.

Jina Giusto & Danielle Giusto Maqsood

Co-Authors Danielle Giusto Maqsood and Jina Giusto have collaborated to write a series of children's books, "My Mommy is a Teacher" and "My Mommy is a Nurse."  The "My Mommy Is" series of books helps kids understand how mothers can balance both a career and motherhood using fun language and rhymes that children can relate to.   Danielle is a mother and a writer of literacy curriculum for middle school students.  She is also a singer and an actress.   Danielle was inspired by her mother Teresa, who was a math teacher for 28 years; she lives with her husband Jay and their two children, Amira & Eli.  Jina is a mother and a pediatrician; she was raised to be a strong, independent woman by her loving, hard working mother Yong.  Jina lives with her husband Greg and their two children, Evelyn and Dominick.

Mikki Arlene Ealey

Mikki Arlene Ealey, born in Queens, New York and raised during her teenage years in the Bronx, moved back to her hometown Queens, where she has raised her four amazing children.  Ms. Ealey's mother gave her at the tender age of 10 her first diary, and she's been writing every since; she gets her gift of writing from her mother.  She has always been an avid  reader of books about Self-help, Esotericism & Metaphysics, Business & Leadership, and Spiritual growth.  Mikki has been in the literary field for over ten years, before undertaking a career in Civil Service.

Thomas k davis

Thomas K. Davis, a Field Technician by day and an author of the Versatile Layer Series of books by night, was inspired to write as a young boy through reading science fiction and superhero comic books.  Thomas has always been a fan of Science Fiction movies, Comics and Manga; these genres have been his influences and his teachers.  His writing style can best be described as cinematic reading.  Each of his four books in his Versatile Layer Series  (The Red Girl, The Glass Runner, Trial by Combat and The Daughters of Death) feels, and is paced, like a motion picture.  Reading each of these installments of the Versatile Layer will make you feel like you're watching a film in a series.  His fifth book, The Guilty Path, will be published shortly.

Kaliek Hayes

Author Kaliek Hayes, a native of South Philadelphia and one of five children, grew up in a broken home and suffered the tragic loss of of a close friend, affecting him in a profound way.  Lacking direction and struggling to cope with his difficult childhood, Kaliek got himself into trouble on the streets of Philly and had to spend six years incarcerated.  During that time, Kaliek rediscovered himself and came to found his purpose in life.   Kaliek became the co-founder of Childhoodslost Entertainment Group (CHL) and Childhoodslost Foundation,  organizations created to help prevent youths from going down the wrong path, as Kalek had done.  Kaliek's first book titled "Ti-Ti's Big Race," tells the story a courageous young girl and her efforts to combat bullying in her neighborhood.  The book has also inspired a play by the same name.  Kaliek is currently co-authoring a book focused on overcoming the effects of childhood trauma.

Malcolm Boyd

Author and founder of the publishing company, Three-Legged Elephant Publishing, LLC, Malcolm Boyd was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, the youngest of five children.  Having dabbled in creative writing and poetry in his youth, Mr. Boyd's  writings were discovered by a small San Francisco based publishing house, and he published his first novel, "One Way In, No Way Out"; this novel introduced reader to his main character Mann Walker.  The second book in the Mann Walker trilogy, "Mann In The Middle," was released in early 2018.  Book three of the Mann Walker trilogy, "Good Night, Bad Day," is due for release in early 2020.  

Besides his work as an author, Mr. Boyd founded Three-Legged Elephant Publishing, LLC, a company expressly geared to promoting and serving the growing number of new and self-published authors.  He has also been busy working on his screenplay for his book, "One Way In, No Way Out," as well as being the creative writer and director for the online comedy series, "Captain Save A-Thot."  In addition, his children's book, "My First Train," published in 2017, has been delighting elementary school children since its release.

LORI SIESTO

Lori Siesto, MME-MT, an author, behavioral & music therapist, and educator of children, holds a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from the University of Kansas, as well as a Bachelors in Music Education from LIU.  

She is also the founder of the company Kid Lit Motivates, which provides educational resources, growth mindset strategies, and developmental & behavioral workshops for both parents and teachers.

Author Yvette Phillips was  born on the island of Jamaica and  then emigrated to the USA, where she studied Business Management at Monroe College.  She worked in the communications field before she started writing.  Ms. Phillips is the author of the five-star fairy tale story titled, "The Tale of Princess Alicia."  The book is a fun and suspenseful story that shows how brave a little girl can be.

JACQUELINE KLOUDA

Jacqueline Klouda, a wife and mother of two children from Long Island, writes inspiring stories that all kids can relate to and laugh about.  Her debut book, "William's Wondering Week," has been featured in Publisher's Weekly and has won the Pinnacle Book Award.  The book is a funny, highly entertaining story about a boy who imagines how his mom has all sorts of fun while he is stuck in school; it also provides an important lesson about open communication between a parent and a child.  William's Wondering Week is a perfect story to read to your children as they are heading back-to-school.

LETTY SUSTRIN

Letty Sustrin, born and educated in Brooklyn, NY, and her deceased twin sister, Shelia, decided at the age of five that they would becomes teachers when they grew up.  Their dreams came true, and they taught side by side for 38 years in the Brentwood, NY School District.  Afer retiring in 1998, realizing that there was a void in their lives (and missing the interaction & daily involvement with students), they began their "life after retirement" careers as co-authors of a series of children's humorous picture storybooks titled, "The Teacher Who Would Not Retire."  

Letty continues to do presentations at schools, retiree & educator's groups, bookstores, and libraries.  She hopes that her books are helping to bridge the gap between youngsters and retirees.  The sixth book in her series was written in memory of her sister.   Letty is under contract with Blue Marlin Publications for her next book, which will be launched in 2020; this upcoming book is titled, "My Sister Left Me A Penny."

Alicia Arso-DiStefano

Alicia Arso-DiStefano, is the author of "Tyler and Lucy are the Best of Friends," the first book in a series of stories about her son and their dog.  Alicia works hard as a stay-at-home mother, raising her three year old son Tyler, her infant daughter Juliana, and her fur baby Lucy.  While never intending to stay at home full-time, after having her son Tyler, her priorities and perspective on life was forever changed when she first held her bundle of joy in her arms.  She feels blessed to be able to spend her days crawling around playing with Batman & Ninja Turtle toys, coloring, reading books with her little man, sweet baby girl & her spunky puppy Lucy.

Tiffany Renee

Tiffany Renee, born and raised on Long Island, began writing her debut book, "Rockstar Monkey," in 2007 while working as a nanny; the book was written to entertain the little girl she was caring for.  Ever since Tiffany was a little girl, she's had a big imagination and loved telling stories and going on magic carpet rides with her Nanee.   Over the years, Tiffany has explored different career paths, but her love of storytelling led her to finally publish her children's story in 2016.  Through her book "Rockstar Monkey," Tiffany hopes to encourage her readers (young and old) to dream big and let their imaginations take them to new places.  Tiffany's writing career has just begun and she has many yet unwritten stories in her vault that are just waiting to be released and published.

Gabrielle & Stacey waldman

Daughter and mother co-authors, Gabrielle & Stacey Waldman, have collaborated to write a children's book titled, "Primary Paintsville," a beautiful story that teaches children about love, acceptance and inclusion.  Gabrielle, who now works as a first grade special education instructor, first wrote the tale as a college assignment at SUNY Oneonta.  Little did she know that her special story would be shared with a wider audience through the help of her mother Stacey.  Stacey Waldman, a Speech & Language Therapist with the NYC Board of Education for 34 years, had searched long and hard in vain for a tool to teach students about tolerance & acceptance.  She discovered that when she shared her daughter's story about Gary Green, the new color in the town of Primary Paintsville, who taught the other colors about acceptance, that it had a positive message & impact on children.  To learn more about Primary Paintsville & to buy the book, go to Amazon:

Deborah Hollm, a recently retired R.N.  that worked for over 40 years in a wide variety of health care institutions (med-surg, ICUs, ER and Home Hospice), has recently fulfilled her lifelong dream of writing children's books.  Deb has just published two children's books, "A to Zebra," and "Friends Along the Way."   Deborah's books were inspired by her lifelong love of animals and nature.   She has a special fondness for greyhounds, having fostered, volunteered and advocated for this dog breed.  With her first  book, Friends Along the Way, the main character of the book is an introverted greyhound  that decides to reach out to the world and finds love and joy in the nuturing connections he makes.   Deb's second book, A to Zebra, helps children explore the alphabet by using alliteration  and her entertaining animals to engage her readers.    Her books introduce children through her imaginative animal characters to have fun and to learn in a whimsical manner.  When not writing, Deb spends her time studying watercolor painting, working on her A Courage Project, an organization that supports people to identify their fears and gaining the courage to create real breakthroughs, and traveling the wolrd with her life partner Stan.

Author Biodun Abudu, born in Rhode Island but of Nigerian descent, graduated with an A.S. degree in Fashion Design and a B.A. in Merchandising Management, with an emphasis on Fashion Merchandising.  He has written two novels, the first entitled "Tales of My Skin," and the second novel entitled "Stolen Sanity."  Both novels provide real life stories of hardship, growth and triumph. Tracy Auerbach

Tracy Auerbach is an author of science fiction and fantasy books for teens and adults.  Tracy's love of reading and vivid imagination led her to study film, English, and education; she has written and taught the STEM curriculum for the New York Department of Education.  Tracy's article about the value of creative writing in science was published in Language Magazine. Author ML Green attended Hampton University in beautiful Hampton, Virginia.  Her first children's  book “JR and the New York Pizza “ is a delightful story of acceptance and love as a curious raccoon, a fast flying generous eagle, and a sweet elegant cow embrace  and nurture their unique and precious friendship; through their adventures, they discover the value of what it means to be a friend and to have a friend!! This engaging story was written several years ago after ML Green and her family stopped for lunch at a local pizza place during one of their family cross country summer vacations.   After a few bites of the new pizza, her son exclaimed ,“This is not a New York pizza.”  Back in the car and several miles later, the story was born. Later that evening as she tucked her son into bed, ML Green  read him the story as her husband also listened.
